Commanded by Captain Christopher Newport, the Susan Constant was the largest of the three ships that brought English settlers to Virginia in 1607, carrying 54 passengers and a crew of about 17. A full-size recreation of the Susan Constant was built in 1990 and is now an exhibit at Jamestown Settlement.
