From a very young age, Susan B. Anthony demonstrated that she was proficient with a needle and thread. Around the age of eleven, Susan stitched a sampler that has been described as a "...fine specimen of needlework with the family record surrounded by a wreath of strawberries all carefully wrought in crewels." (Harper, Life and Work of Susan B. Anthony, Volume 1898.) This cross stitch project is an adaptation of her original sampler design.
