Complete kit includes fabric, floss, needle , chart, instructions and color photo of finished project..
"The Apotheosis of George Washington,” a fresco painted by Constantino Brumidi, adorns the lofty dome of the United States Capitol Rotunda. Completed in 1865, this majestic composition served as a powerful symbol of the immortalization of the first president in the decades following his death. Seated near the center, Washington is flanked on his right by Liberty/Authority, and on his left by Victory/Fame sounding a trumpet and holding a palm frond aloft in a symbol of victory. Thirteen female figures stand in a semicircle around Washington, representing the thirteen original states. On the outer ring of the canopy, six allegorical groupings represent agriculture, commerce, war, mechanics, seafaring, and the arts & sciences." ; 11.5"; Aida; 18ct
